Strategizing + Communicating + Involvement = Achieving

Public relations is the cornerstone of meaningful connections between organizations and their audiences. Involvement, Inc. believes this is built on the dynamic interplay of strategizing, communicating, and involvement. These elements converge to create a powerful formula for success: achieving tangible outcomes and fostering long-term relationships. Strategizing involves crafting thoughtful plans that align with an organization or individual’s goals and resonate with the needs and aspirations of target audiences. Research and analysis leads to identifying the best channels, messages, and tactics to shape perceptions and build trust. Communicating brings strategies to life. In PR, communication is more than just conveying information, it’s about telling compelling stories, fostering dialogue, and creating emotional connections through press releases, thought leadership, and events. Effective communication ensures that an organization’s message reaches the right people at the right time. Involvement is the bridge that transforms passive engagement into active advocacy or brand support. We foster genuine participation through stakeholder collaboration and collecting audience feedback. By involving clients, communities, and partners in meaningful ways, PR creates a sense of shared purpose that drives mutual success. Combining strategizing, communicating, and involvement leads to achieving: measurable results, enhanced reputation, and enduring partnerships. Involvement, Inc. empowers organizations to navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and connect with their audiences in impactful ways. The result is empowered leaders, people-focused communications.

Michael's Communications Background

People participate when they feel a connection…that belief, honed across a nearly 30-year communications career, underpins all of Michael’s professional work (and is the thesis of his book Battling Democracy’s Decline). Michael brings perspective, a deep rolodex and "I've seen it all" experience to his role as founder of Involvement, Inc. Whether working in politics, for a nonprofit or running a company, it is imperative to understand the audience being engaged, what you want all parties to get from the interaction, and the necessary approach and tools to move stakeholders. Michael has built deep knowledge in this arena, including:

This passion and work led Mills to author the 2009 book, “Battling Democracy’s Decline: Lessons from the Trenches.” And it culminated with being elected to Canandaigua City Council in 2023 (earning 65 percent of the vote).
